Share Full Functionality of USB Devices with the LINDY IP Server

4 Port USB 2.0 over Gigabit IP Server We announced today the availability of our 4 Port USB 2.0 over Gigabit IP Server that allows users to share multifunction printers, scanners, hard drives and other USB devices over a network without losing device functionality. Unlike some USB servers that are only able to process basic functionality, the LINDY USB Gigabit IP Server allows for management and application controls such as printer status or scanning settings to be managed over the network too.

Easy to install using the user friendly web based interface, the server features four high speed USB 2.0 ports capable of simultaneous connection to the shared devices and an RJ-45 port for connecting to the LAN. The LINDY USB Gigabit IP Server is able to connect and disconnect users automatically for printing, ensuring maximum availability and removing the annoyance of users that forget to disconnect manually.

Sharing USB devices over a network has always created issues between users that hog the resources and the lack of management over individual functionality. Our latest IP Server solves these issues by acting as if it’s connected to your computer’s own USB port.

Another handy feature of the LINDY USB Gigabit IP Server is the ability to create a shortcut on the desktop that starts the application associated with the device and the device at the same time. This function is extremely useful with devices such as a multi-function printer, where a specific application must be running to access the photo scanning utility. It saves time by eliminating the need to connect to the device first through the server software, before opening up the application to control the device.

Supplied with a multi-country power adapter and RJ45 cable the server is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
