New 8 Port PoE Gigabit Web Smart Switch

We announced today the launch of our Power over Ethernet Switch (PoE), which allows up to 8 PoE devices, such as wireless access points and IP based surveillance cameras, to be connected. PoE's simplicity of integrating data, voice and power onto a standard Cat5 cable removes the need for a power supply local to the device making it easier to situate, particularly in outside locations such as the side of a building or entrance gate.

Our 8 Port PoE Gigabit Web Smart Switch includes comprehensive performance and management controls that ensure seamless network integration, elimination of bottlenecks and reliable packet transfer. The switch's management function can be accessed via an out of band RS-232 terminal port connection and also via in-band IP access from a local or remote location using a simple web browser interface.

Our latest switch is suitable for enterprise companies or SOHO users who want to use a high speed network, but are restricted in the devices they use because of the constraints imposed by power sockets. PoE devices not only reduce cabling costs, for many organisations it's the only viable solution when implementing business critical devices beyond the normal boundaries.

The eight Fast Ethernet ports supply industry standard IEEE 802.3af power for use with any compatible PoE device. All ports support Auto MDI/MDI-X function, eliminating the need for crossover cables and the switch's extensive front-panel diagnostic LEDs allows the user to see at a glance the current PoE status.
